Fifteen Bognor swimmers competed in the Littlehampton Splash Open Meet right after the New Year with many great results. But most importantly Tom also gained the accolade of consistently performing the best streamlining off every start and turn. Whilst Grace Womersley demonstrated the most efficient freestyle kick. It is so important to put those skills you have practiced in training into your races, I do promise it will pay dividends and you will get faster!

There were PBs (personal bests) abound, with PBs in all their events from Daisy Donoghue, Grace Womersley, Imogen Ede, Kaitlin Hickmore, Nathan Cowell, Rosie Freeman and William Stevens. Superb!

Thank you to Tina Turner who helped me poolside all day and to Mark Webb who refereed and Martin Stone who was the starter.

Regular competition is a great way to see how your swimming is progressing and to improve your times, why not make the next Littlehampton meet in April your first open!

Other Open Meet News

Tom Hogg, Abbie Turner and Katie White attended the Rushmoor Royal open meet held at the Aldershot Garrison pool at the beginning of December. Katie won 4 gold medals and all won a selection of gold, silver and bronze as you can
see from the photo! 12 year old Tom gained his 14th county qualifying time, swimming 30.77 in the 50m freestyle.

Abbie and Alys Turner swam in the Southampton Christmas meet on 13th December . This turned out to be a busy and tough meet, especially for Alys who having just turned 13 was swimming in the large 13- 14yr age group. Abbie came away with Silver medals in the 100 back and 200 IM events. Abbie also gained her 100 fly county time, whilst Alys swam three PBs. Well done to you all!
