Happy New Year Everyone!
Here’s what our swimmers and parents got up to over the Christmas holidays.
The 12 Swims of Christmas
First up was the 12 Swims of Christmas on December 23rd. Swimmers from all squads, from the littlest to the biggest took part in our 12 Swims, where each line of the traditional Christmas carol was given a bit of a twist to include racing starts, butterfly, tumbleturns, mushroom floats, bombing etc.
As you can see from the videos below, it was loud, raucous and a lot of fun. Once the carol was sung, all the kids and their friends enjoyed a Splash session, ate the cakes and goodies provided by parents and said hello to Father and Mrs Christmas and their helpful Elf.
News Year Day Dip!
Next up, on a cold and dreary (in terms of the weather) day, parents and supporters of BRSC took to the freezing waters of Bognor Regis for a New Years Day dip, reviving an old tradition. The event was hosted by BRSC to raise money for the club, and participants chosen charity. Despite the cold and greyness of the day, spirits were high and everyone had a fantastic time. Many thanks to Bognor Regis Yacht Club also. At this point, over £900 has been raised for the club, and people can still donate up to the 20th January. Enjoy the film below of the event..
