Fifteen Bognor swimmers competed in the Littlehampton Splash Open Meet right after the New Year with many great results. But most importantly Tom also gained the accolade of consistently performing the best streamlining off every start and turn. Whilst Grace Womersley demonstrated the most efficient freestyle kick. It is so important to put those skills you have practiced in training into your races, I do promise it will pay dividends and you will get faster!
A few of our swimmers have been busy attending open meets in order to gain their licensed county times. Tom Hogg, Amber Mac-rae and Grace Womer-sley attended the PeterBull Meet at Waterlooville on 21st November. They were joined by Katie White, representing Millfield. All swam good personal best times (PBs), with Tom and Amber both winning medals. Tom gained two Gold and two Silver medals, whilst Amber gained Silver in the 200m butterfly. Katie swam for time only, posting the fastest 200 free time in her age group. Tom swam a 12 second PB in his 200 breast to easily achieve his county time. Amber swam a 19 second PB in her 200 free and Grace a 9 second PB in her 100 breast. Fantastic!
The following weekend saw Tom, Amber and Abbie Turner at Portsmouth. Tom swam two good PBs, both county times, winning with gold in the 200 back and silver in the 400 free. Amber swam a good PB in her 100 fly and edging closer to her county time. Abbie swam a superb PB to gain her 400 IM county time, winning Silver.
Great work guys!
